VK2000
VK2000: The World’s lightest mobile phone.
VK have revealed the slim and light VK2000 mobile phone, the VK2000 is the first mobile phone which is less than 10mm in thickness. VK developed VK2000 to hit the world’s GSM market for the second half of 2005. The VK2000 is not only slim with a thickness of only 8.8mm, but also the lightest phone with a weight of only 48g.
VK2000’s black, bar-type design and at just 49mm x 89mm, the VK2000 is the same size as your average business card. VK2000’s Bar-type design is already a universal form factor fit for developing thin, light-weight products leading the low-priced product groups.
VK2000 has been developed for the lower-price mobile phone market. The VK2000 is a challenger to Nokia’s bar-type mobile phones which are the leading sellers in the low-end market. VK2000 will go on sale in China in early September followed by Europe, Southeast Asia, and the America Continent.
The VK2000 does not have a MP3 player or camera. The VK2000 has a metal keypad to minimize the thickness. The VK2000 is equipped with the baseband chip developed by VMTS. The VK2000 has a 1.5-inch wide 65k pixel LCD display.
Based on its entry into the UK market through Vodafone last February, VK has currently concluded supply agreements in Ireland and France. VK2000 will soon occupy the world market following VK1000, a Quad-Band phone released last month.
VK2000 will also be available in Korea as a CDMA phone by December 2005.
