Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a Review

The Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a announced yesterday is one of the first mobile phones to incorporate Sony’s Cyber-Shot branding, lets look at the some of features of this latest mobile phone.

The Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a incorporates a 3.2 megapixel camera with “Active Lens Cover”, autofocus, automatic red eye reduction, 16x digital zoom and “Xenon” flash. The Cyber-shot like camera phone is also capable of capturing and reviewing video too.

Some of the functions of the Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a include, “PictBridge” for computer free printing, “BestPic” image technology, this allows users to take a series of nine photos (The captured image plus four before and after) from just one click, a video / image stabiliser and Adobe’s video and image management software.

The Tri-Band Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a also includes a music player capable of playing an array of audio formats from MP3 to eACC+, RDS FM radio, video player, Streaming Audio / Video and 3D gaming. The mobile phone also provides 64 megabytes of storage (can be expanded using Memory Stick Micro) , so it’s possible to take and keep up to 100, 3.2 megabyte photographs on the Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a.

The Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a can connect to other devices with the aid of Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, the phone can also be used to surf the web and comes supplied with a HTML browser and RSS reader.

The EDGE capable Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a measures 106 x 47 x 18 (22) mm and weighs just 115 grams, this new mobile phone also offers up to 7 hours GSM/2.5 hours UMTS of talk time and up to 350 hours on standby.

USB cable, stereo hands-free kit and PC software come supplied with the Sony Ericsson K790i / K790a. This latest mobile phone from Sony Ericsson should be available sometime during the second quarter of 2006, no pricing information is currently available.
