Pantech PG-8000 Camera Phone, launched today.
Pantech has launched the Pantech PG-8000,a new GSM model with advanced camera and multimedia functionality aimed at sophisticated handset users.
The Pantech PG-8000 is designed to resemble a digital camera (the “dica” look) and features a 2 mega pixel camera and a wide, horizontal LCD display. The Pantech PG-8000 is also geared towards music-oriented users and incorporates an MP3 function, supporting MP3, AAC, and AAC+ files, while an FM tuner is included for enhanced radio enjoyment.

The Pantech PG-8000 also features an external memory card slot to provide extra capacity for music files and is equipped with a phonebook that allows convenient wireless transmission from mobile phones to PC and vice versa. For the wireless data transmission, the Pantech PG-8000 supports IrDA and Bluetooth function with USB PC Sync. The Pantech PG-8000 also includes the TTS (Text to speech) function for additional optimal phone use.
Pantech has a notable track record in the production of innovative “dica” phones. Last year, Pantech affiliate Pantech & Curitel Communications, Inc. launched the P1 handset, a CDMA camera phone – also designed to look like a digital camera – which was recognized with a “Good Design” award from the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy.
