The first is the body material. Still all the manufacturing companies pay little attention to the material of their clamshells, in 90 percents that is some variation of plastic. Motorola was the first to represent a metallic body, and the Motorola PEBL U6 also has such a case. And unlike the Nokia 7270 with its metallic insertions, here the metal has a rounded form; the work is more complicated and unordinary. The Motorola PEBL U6 has no insertions or covers of metal, the body is almost all made of it.
The second factor is tactile feelings. The designers refused a smooth metal that we saw in the Motorola v600 and a pleasant haze of the Motorola RAZR V3. The metal in the Motorola PEBL U6 is hidden from your sight; the body is covered with paint making a feeling of a dull coating and resembling a pebble grinded by a see (or a velvety cover of the Motorola v535 in some kind). The impression is absolutely unordinary; the device is pleasant to hold. And a practically good point, no fingerprints stay on the body, it is not easily soiled. Treating the model captiously one will nevertheless find fingerprints, but you won’t notice them in everyday conditions.

The exterior of the Motorola PEBL U6 seems to go against popularity, dismissing everything that made the RAZR a best-seller; being thicker and rounder. Measuring 87 x 49 x 20 mm, the Motorola PEBL U6 is about the size of a credit card (86 x 54 mm), much larger than its moniker suggests.

The Motorola PEBL U6 has the smooth contours and weight of a pet rock—one you might have plucked out of some lovely volcanic mountain stream during a Hawaiian sojourn. As befits a successor to the RAZR, the Motorola PEBL U6 doesn’t have many high-end features, but it is one exceedingly stylish voice phone.
Where the RAZR is angular, the Motorola PEBL U6 is round, thicker (1.9 by 3.4 by 0.8 inches) and slightly heavier (3.8 ounces). It’s more of a purse phone than a pocket phone. You open it by placing your thumb on the Motorola logo and moving it slightly forward; the phone then flips up in a smooth motion. Inside is a very shiny plastic keypad, one that resembles, though doesn’t quite feel like, metal.

In fact, it’s a reference to one of the new handsets unveiled by Motorola in Cannes this week, the Motorola PEBL U6; a clamshell handset which, unlike the much-coveted RAZR V3, foregoes a slim profile in favour of rounded shapes.
Motorola PEBL U6 for some reason or other, I have a feeling women may take a particular liking to the Motorola PEBL U6 as its styling is far more subtle than that of the RAZR V3 and the SLVR V8. That being said, I couldn’t find a fellow male visitor who didn’t like the design – and with a price tag that may very well be lower than the RAZR and SLVR models, Motorola could very well have a hit on its hands with the Motorola PEBL U6.
