LG U880 Reviews

Last month, LG unveiled the LG U880 as the “world’s slimmest 3G phone” and at 18.2mm thick, I don’t know of any 3G phone in Europe that’s thinner.

The LG U880 is a real contender to the Motorola V3 Razr and judged by that yardstick it’s destined to capture many Xmas and New Year sales.

My first impression of the LG U880 is that its “on the money”.

The LG U880 is LG’s thinnest, lightest 3G mobile to date. In fact it’s a lot thinner and lighter than many 2G phones! the LG U880 is an attractive clamshell phone with an internal aerial, and available in black, silver or pink. The keypad is square with flat keys and is easy to use.

Despite it’s compact size the LG U880 doesn’t miss out on specifications. Quite the reverse in fact – it’s LG’s highest spec phone yet.

Jumping on the thin bandwagon, LG has announced that its LG U880 3G clamshell will be available from Three networks in a range of countries from November. At 18.2 mm thick, the maker claims the LG U880 handset is the world’s thinnest 3G clamshell, yet despite this the LG U880 contains an advanced feature set including a 1.3 Megapixel camera, 2-inch LCD display and more.

To launch alongside Motorola’s newly announced RAZR V3x and two Nokia models, the 6280 and N70, the LG U880 offers a number of high-end features such as an internal 2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 262K colour depth, joined by a 96 x 96 pixel, 65K colour TFT external display.

The LG U880 has 75 MB of built in memory which means it’s only capable of storing around 20 songs. If you want to have more, then you’ll need to purchase a TransFlash card. The LG U880 is clearly designed for the fashion conscious out there as the phone is available in a wide array of colors including glossy black, matt black, silver, and pink.
