Kyocera KX440 push-to-talk phone (TELUS Mobility Canada)

Kyocera KX440 push-to-talk phone with CDMA technology now available to TELUS Mobility customers in Canada.

Kyocera in conjunction with TELUS Mobility, unveiled Canada’s first digital PCS, Push To Talk (PTT) wireless handset, the Kyocera KX440. With the push of a button, the phone becomes a walkie-talkie, allowing for instant communication between individuals.

TELUS Mobility is Canada’s Push To Talk leader and we’re very pleased to provide the first handset to support their new Instant Talk service,

said Jim Kelly, chief operating officer at Kyocera Wireless Corp.

Businesses have come to rely on PTT, and the Kyocera KX440 has the right combination of features, style and price in a Push To Talk phone.

With our Mike network for business and now Instant Talk on our PCS network, TELUS Mobility is Canada’s leading national Push To Talk service provider, and we are pleased to be launching our new service with the Kyocera KX440,

said Robert Blumenthal, TELUS Mobility’s vice president, products and services.

The Kyocera KX440 is based on Kyocera’s popular Phantom design and features single-button PTT functionality, a dedicated speakerphone and a volume-control button. The Kyocera KX440 phone’s colour display with on-screen contact cartoon icons lets users know when other users are available to talk.

The Kyocera KX440 is ideal for heavy use, as each handset comes equipped with a high-capacity, rechargeable lithium ion battery that will ensure talk time of up to 200 minutes and standby time of four days in CDMA digital mode.

In addition to its instant communication functionality, the Kyocera KX440 comes with rubberized side grips and keypad, and a variety of productivity tools including up to 25 ringer types, vibrating alert, voice-activated dialing, alarm clock, stopwatch and tip calculator. Downloadable ringtones, Web access and predictive text entry round out the Kyocera KX440’s long list of features.
